Back to School Preparations at Ringgold Elementary School

HUGS, Incorporated is thrilled to announce the launch of our very first back-to-school event for Ringgold Elementary School! We celebrated in style with an exhilarating backpack and supply giveaway, ensuring every student kicks off the year fully equipped with the essential tools for their incredible journey to success!

HUGS Incorporated visits STARBASE at Barksdale AFB

The Barksdale Air Force Base STARBASE program invites fifth-graders to dive into the thrilling realms of science, technology, engineering, and math! Each year, over 2,000 eager young minds are challenged to build essential STEM skills and spark a passion for future careers in these amazing fields. This year, students from Gibsland Elementary School, sponsored by HUGS, joined in on a week-long STARBASE session packed with engaging STEAM lessons (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) that will inspire them for years to come!

STEM's baseline program, 2.0, is here to ignite the passion of students eager to dive deeper into the world of STEM. Whether in an after-school club or during school hours, 6th-8th graders will explore the thrilling realms of drones, aerodynamics, and CO cars. Meanwhile, our 9th-12th graders will soar to new heights as they participate in the national rocketry program, The American Rocketry Challenge (TARC)!

STEAM is passionate about educating students through the thrilling realms of math and science! These amazing subjects are not just fun; they are the heartbeat of STEAM initiatives, fueling curiosity and innovation in young minds!

HUGS Students visit HBCUs

HUGS, Inc. teamed up with other amazing agencies for an exciting one-week tour to explore some of the prestigious Historically Black Colleges and Universities! From the vibrant Grambling University to the dynamic Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA, and the spirited Texas Southern University Houston, Texas, students had a fantastic chance to dive into college life and engage with inspiring administrators at each campus. This incredible experience allowed participants to boost their social skills, identify areas for personal growth, and how to establish healthy and meaningful relationship boundaries. What an unforgettable journey!

Graduation Cap Art

HUGS students at Forrest Hill Elementary School were truly dressed to impress in their stylish cardigan sweaters, crisp button-down shirts, snazzy ties, and smart khaki pants! Through our exciting "Etiquette for Advancement" initiative, these young men are mastering the art of dressing for success, tying ties like pros, and choosing the perfect colors for any occasion. They're also learning essential skills like table setting, proper manners, and boosting their confidence in social situations, helping them interpret social cues and build positive connections. We wholeheartedly believe that our students shine brighter when they look the part!

HUGS Students Visit Local Detention Center

HUGS students were excited to visit the local detention center to dive into the workings of government agencies, including the City Council, and discover how they can actively participate as engaged citizens! They get to create their very own mock government agencies, complete with scripts, offices, and stylish outfits, making this initiative an unforgettable experience. This fun project is part of our Professional and Career Choice program, designed to inspire positive alternatives to gang involvement and criminal behavior through motivational talks by local juvenile justice system members.
